What does a Family Math
Night or Math Fair Look Like
at Our School or
Organization?




The Metamo4ic Math Center will bring 15
activities for families and children to explore
for an hour and a half (90 minutes).  Activities
are aligned and meet National Council of
Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards.

  • Each child attending the Family Math
    Night/Math Fair receives a scorecard to
    enter responses from the activities.  
  • At the end of the event, children turn in
    their scorecards.  The scorecards are
    left with your school or organization.  
    Scorecards may be used to track data
    on the children during the Family Math  
    Night/Math Fair, and also serve as an
    entry in a drawing for a grand prize if
    your school or organization chooses
    the prize option.  
  • If the prize option is selected, children
    also receive their choice of two small
    prizes when they turn in their
    scorecards.

Family Math Nights
Family Math Nights are an
opportunity to invite parents and
children to enjoy an evening of
mathematics while Math Fairs are
an opportunity for children during
a school day or an after school
program to gain positive
experiences with mathematics.  
Yes, it is possible to have positive
experiences and enjoy
mathematics!
The Math Center sets-up and takes
down the booths in the gym.
Your school or organization is
asked to provide a minimal number
of tables and chairs for the Math
Center to use during the event.
It is recommended that volunteers
facilitate each booth, and the Math
Center provides directions for
each volunteer.
Math Center Specialists work with
volunteers and help facilitate
Family Math Nights/Math Fairs by
traveling booth to booth to help
get the children engaged and
having fun with the activities.
FEES

The following fees are based for Family
Math Nights and Math Fairs within a 30
mile radius of Ferguson, Missouri.  
Additional charges will apply for
distances outside the 30 mile radius.
